Offset printing can be like a crocodile pit - so read this before you engage a printer!

Offset is still the best and the cheapest way to get your company collaterals produced. Offset printing quality is 3 to 4 times better than lazer and the cost so much less, especially when you print in volume. If you are new to printing though it can be a bit of a 'mine field' so it is good to know much about printing and to learn some key tips before diving into the waters with offset printers. If you get things wrong you could be up for a 'hand slap' from your boss and an embarrasing bill to pay!

The prints from offset printing are of superior quality than those from conventional lithographic printing. The availability of offset printers has become easy nowadays and any moderate sized printing company provides offset printing services.

That fact that offset printing demands a great deal of work to set up, makes the service pricier than digital printing for small volumes of work. However, if you want printing done in huge volumes, then offset printing can prove to be fairly in expensive. The initial high set up cost is offset by the relatively much lower running expense of offset printing. Thus, it makes good sense to opt for offset printing in case of high volumes as it's more economical.

When selecting an offset printing company there are some additional points to keep in mind. Offset printing involves a significantly different method than digital printing and the choices can sometimes be overwhelming for a non-expert. Technical support is a must to guide you with the technical specifications of offset printing. So the printing company that you choose to work with should be able to offer such support.

Other printing services such as extending design services for your print need, and providing you a sample print before bulk printing should also be asked for from the chosen printing service provider. Finally, for you to be able to use the printing company on a continuous basis, the company must provide you reasonable prices, which fall well within your printing budget.

So be careful before you leap in - learn as much as possible and remember - your printer is there to help you so ask them. Most will be helpful to a new comer to the field. - 31403
