The HP Q6000A Cartridge System System

By Ben Pate

Taking a look at the HP Q6000A toner cartridge reveals the unit that combines high quality black toner with several different color toner units to produce an overall system that works well with a number of Hewlett-Packard LaserJet units. That it can work so well with more than a few different HP printers at a relatively low price is impressive because it can support a wide range of print jobs.

When it comes to compatibility, Hewlett-Packard has done its work well. This particular system is made for a number of different lines, including the 2600n and 2605 series of printers along with several other quality color prints models. The company has taken its ColorSphere technology and applied it to these cartridges, giving it the ability to print pages that are rated as being almost perfect.

HP LaserJet printers are often the ideal printer models for print jobs that need to be of high quality. This cartridge system does its particular job in supporting LaserJet printer tasks particularly well. The black toner cartridge consistently delivers extremely sharp blacks while the color tones that are supplied by the color cartridges are noteworthy on a number of fronts.

One such reason is that just about every color that is possible to be produced from this cartridge set up emerges looking brilliant and bright. When it comes to printing that needs to be of photo-quality, it's hard to find anything to quibble about when looking at this particular set up. The company looks to have worked very hard to produce a cartridge that works easily and with little sweat.

Also, pages come out very quickly for a color LaserJet printer task. HP says that the cartridge system can produce a wider range of colors, up to 22% more than in older color LaserJet cartridge setups. As far as rating such a system based on this kind of quality, it is readily apparent that HP has delivered a model that is impressive almost across the board.

Technically, any color laser toner system takes four separate color cartridges -- black, cyan, yellow and magenta -- and combines them to produce any color in the spectrum that's available to produce extremely realistic reproductions no matter how in-depth, or "color soaked" the original copy is. The Q6000A is able to meet an exacting standard for such printing that many other toner cartridges can't.

As far as print yield numbers, the black laser toner cartridge in this system is capable of at least 2500 pages of print output, which is better than many other similar cartridges that it would be compared to. The other three cartridges in the system are rated as being able to deliver print output that comes in at about 2000 pages of photo-quality printing product.

Pricing as it relates to the HP Q6000A toner cartridge also seems to be fairly reasonable. There are a number of outlets on the Internet that can deliver a ready supply of these cartridges for relatively low prices. The black cartridge itself can be had for less than $40 while the set of four making up the whole system can be found for around $150. This is a very nice price for a quality cartridge system. - 31403
